چکیده

In this paper, we present photometric and spectroscopic observations of a subluminous type Ia supernova (SN Ia) 2012ij, which has an absolute $B$-band peak magnitude $M_{B,\rm{max}}$ = $-$17.95 $\pm$ 0.15 mag. The light curve exhibits fast post-peak decline with $\Delta m_{15}(B)$ 1.86 0.05 All the $R$ $I$/$i$-band curves show weak secondary peak/shoulder feature at about 3 weeks after peak, like some transitional subclass SNe Ia, could result from incomplete merger near-infrared (NIR) double peaks. spectra are characterized by Ti~{\sc ii} strong Si~{\sc $\lambda$5972 absorption features that usually seen in low-luminosity objects SN 1999by. NIR spectrum before maximum reveals carbon features, implying existence unburned materials. We compare observed properties 2012ij those predicted sub-Chandrasekhar-mass Chandrasekhar-mass delayed-detonation models, find both optical spectral can be explained to extent these two models. By comparing $I$ $i$ bands, suggest is object linking normal typical 91bg-like ones. From published sample $Carnegie~Supernova~Project~II$ (CSP-II), estimate fraction 2012ij-like not lower than $\sim$ 2%.

Sn 2005cg: Explosion Physics and Circumstellar Interaction of a Normal Type Ia Supernova in a Low-luminosity Host1

We present the spectral evolution, light curve, and corresponding interpretation for the “normal-bright” Type Ia Supernova 2005cg discovered by ROTSE-IIIc. The host is a low-luminosity (Mr = −16.75), blue galaxy with strong indications of active star formation and an environment similar to that expected for SNe Ia at high redshifts. Early-time (t ∼ −10 days) optical spectra obtained with the HE...

A Light Echo from Type Ia Supernova SN 1995E?

We identify a light echo candidate from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) imaging of NGC 2441, the host galaxy of the Type Ia supernova 1995E. From the echo’s angular size and the estimated distance to the host galaxy, we find a distance of 207±35 pc between the dust and the site of the supernova. If confirmed, this echo brings the total number of observed non-historical Type Ia light echoes to thre...

SN 2002 cv : A Heavily Obscured Type Ia Supernova

We present V RIJHK photometry, and optical and near-infrared spectroscopy, of the heavily extinguished Type Ia supernova (SN) 2002cv, located in NGC 3190, which is also the parent galaxy of the Type Ia SN 2002bo. SN 2002cv, not visible in the blue, has a total visual extinction of 8.74± 0.21 mag. In spite of this we were able to obtain the light curves between −10 and +207 days from the maximum...

Type Ia Supernova Explosion: Gravitationally Confined Detonation

We present a new mechanism for Type Ia supernova explosions in massive white dwarfs. The proposed scenario follows from relaxing the assumption of symmetry in the model and involves a detonation created in an unconfined environment. The explosion begins with an essentially central ignition of stellar material initiating a deflagration. This deflagration results in the formation of a buoyantly-d...

Full-star Type Ia supernova explosion models

We present full-star simulations of Type Ia supernova explosions on the basis of the standard Chandrasekhar-mass deflagration model. Most simulations so far considered only one spatial octant and assumed mirror symmetry to the other octants. Two full-star models are evolved to homologous expansion and compared with previous single-octant simulations. Therefrom we analyze the effect of abolishin...
